Positive Coaching Alliance

Burlington Junior Soccer is committed to implementing a new philosophy in Youth Sports, and is in the process of affiliating with a National Organization called the Positive Coaching Alliance. The following documents will provide background information on many different topics. It is our commitment to implement this philosophy community wide in an effort to better our program, and the environment we provide for our children. (It isn’t just about soccer!!!!!!!)

Some PCA testimonials

“The best part of the PCA workshop was the practical coaching tips that I can use right away. Interesting how this applies in the rest of my life, as a father and business manager. How would I improve this workshop?…Have all coaches attend!”
–Coach and Sports Parent, Montclair Soccer Club

“Thanks for the workshop. As much as I thought it was great for coaching AYSO soccer, I almost thought it was more valuable for dealing with the whole domain of life — parenting, relationships, workers, etc. You really did a great job helping me think about filling the tanks of those around me.”
–John Donahoe, Stanford Law School Professor

“I always seek at least 1 tool from a session that I can add to my arsenal and use on a regular basis to help me be a better coach. ELM was that tool. I have used it several times, with high school girls and U-11 boys. You couldn’t imagine the beaming smile I got last weekend from a u-11 boy when I said ‘Mistakes are OK, that’s one way we learn to have more confidence.’
–Future Stars Soccer Director & Coach, Scarsdale, NY
